This is a visualisation of current CO₂ levels in Earth's atmosphere (red is less, blue is more).

Earth's two largest rainforests are the Congo and the Amazon, and they show up here as very obvious red patches. Between them, they pull so much CO₂ out of the atmosphere that it affects the entire Southern Hemisphere!
