The great thing about Mastodon is that it is basically functioning anarcho-communism in and of itself, so I never have to answer the question "but how will communism ever work" on here. I can just be like "you're livin it, dude! Cowabunga!"

@kropotkhristian I've always said Masto is more like a world made of city-states all with slightly different forms of government. It's good, but it's not quite anarchy

@socalledunitedstates perhaps, but it is both decentralized and ran by free software, so the infrastructure is publicly owned. It is closer to communism than any equivalent social network

@kropotkhristian I'm sorry, but this is not quite right. The biggest instance about- a japanese one- is corporate-run.
