Main risk, IMHO, lies inside developers community. I see more and more newcomers, who enjoy FOSS and other digital freedoms, but do not know how bad it was just 10 years ago. MS is binding them to their infrastructure, their products (VSC, bash on Windows), so purchasing GitHub seems to be fitting this long-term strategy. This Indian guy is really much smarter than Ballmer.
