Seems I know about Ukraine and Poland more than you do.
Oleksiy in Ukrainian is equivalent to Alexey in Russian. And noone in Russia / Ukraine is shortening Alexey/Oleksiy to Olek, we normally say 'Lyosha' or 'Lyoha'.
Same story with Alexander, none in Poland / Ukraine / Russia / Belorussia / is shortening this name to Olek. In Russia typically we use 'Sasha', Ukrainians might say 'Sashko', Belorussians - 'Oles'. But never ever 'Olek'.
