Carlin once suggested an alternative to "TGIF" called "HSIOW" and today seems appropriate for it.

This week's evening project: inventory of everything in my "Gym Bag-O-Consumer Electronics" and other gizmos and gadgets I own, all in a SharePoint Online list.

The Surface Laptop looks nice, but maybe before pulling this Windows 10 S stunt, Microsoft should focus on the fact that nearly everything in their app store is hot garbage.

I'm so accustomed to being hyper-connected to everything happening on the internet. These days I have a life outside that and it's almost like I fear what happens when I'm not online and around to see it.

Good weekend so far. I'm actually looking forward to work tomorrow... sort of.

Girlfriend is tagging along for storm chasing this evening. May the gods have mercy on our sanity... and may we see something interesting.

A small child pulled the fire alarm in the school where my office is today. Thankfully I was around, because I was the only one in the building who knew how to shut it off!

Replaced a melted load resistor on my LED turn signals. I hate that the line it's on is also for my brake lights.

I would like to take a moment to talk about the Windows 10 1704 "night light" feature. It's great, but so far it likes to get stuck in the enabled state. We'll see how tonight goes.

I should not have had that much chocolate milk for breakfast.

Trackpad fix, take 3: obscure registry settings controlling the Microsoft PTP driver. Hope this works.

False alarm (so far). An update to Windows 1704 seems to have a better trackpad experience. Fingers crossed!

Holy balls, the trackpad on the XPS 13 is horrible. It keeps freezing. Might return this computer and go for the HP Spectre

Student came into my office because he couldn't find his phone. (We can give a rough estimate of where missing devices are located.) It shows as in my office. I informed the student he probably had his device. It was in his bag. That was the high point of my day.

The weather could get a little hairy in some parts of the US today... wonder if my @Tornado_Emergency bot will spring to life. spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/

Finally got a message about a computer I've had listed on one of those "sell-your-stuff" apps for like three weeks. Maybe today is getting better.

I'm feeling really drained after a stressful day. Not even the cat sitting in my lap is helping.
