I took a little break while eating dinner to experiment doing something without lines!
#Popper explains the #tolerance paradox, or why you should not tolerate intolerance.

I second OpenShot, just the right level of features/complexity (in other words, only the basic features) But I have to say my experience with it was a few years back, on linux.
When I had to edit something on Windows this year, I couldn't get OpenShot to work. I also tried Blender but that was never directly intended for video editing and has so many more features then you need. I didn't manage to edit anything with that.
I didn't solve this question on Windows yet.
happy solstice everyone! remember, today will be 4,972,168,222 hours long, so get comfortable because we'll be here for a long time

Wouldn't you rather be
⚪️ a left-handed flea
⚪️ a crab on a slab at the bottom of the sea
⚪️a newt on the root of a banyan tree
⚪️a fig on a twig in Galilee
⚪️a man who never learned how to be free. Not till the day he died.
This deli actually used to be the Hollywood Video where I worked when I was 19. It's changed a lot.
Also an adult human pooped in the romcom section once
I once got in trouble here because I said "Can I help the next customer" and the next customer was the regional manager who gave me a lecture that we don't have customers, we have guests.
"If everything was legal for like twenty-four hours I'd start a communal garden."

@cocoron In terms of real social benefit, this is vastly wrong. A study in Britain on the value added by profession (heard on bbc, I’ve tried by failed to rediscover it) found that nurses, teachers, and other service workers create something like 17 times the wealth they are paid, while parasites like banksters, lawyers, and such syphon off the inverse wealth from society.
So a bankster who donates half “his” money is only sucking half the blood from the societal teat as usual.

I actually like "no at". Sometimes someone will share something just to vent.
In real life this is easy enough to sense, yet it still took me a good long time to get this. If someone complains about their shitty day start by showing some empathy and saying "that sucks". Maybe later you can suggest a fix.
On Mastodon I really like that most people are going out of their way to be nice towards each other, so I would want to respect this. The "no at" makes this really clear.
Thinking of making a filter for "no at" messages. If all one wishes is to voice something but in no way engage, why even toot? Just write it to /dev/null or something?
Prompted by seeing a no-at message complaining of a tech issue that has a super easy fix the poster clearly doesn't know about, which makes me wonder why they didn't no-at the tech support email address instead.
