So this is how the instant app thing went down yesterday

1. Someone on here shared a link to a CBC article about a video of two lynxes being cute
2. This content is highly relevant to my interests, so I clicked the link on my Android phone
3. Instead of opening the URL in chrome, Android instead installed the CBC "instant app" and opened the article there
4. The article would not let me play the video it was about, saying I would need to install the real app to play video
5. Everything sucks

"The average American worker takes less vacation time than a medieval peasant"
A very interesting read on how work hours and leisure time changed through history.

Revealing and publically shaming Nazis shows them that their toxic ideologies have consequences. This is an important step to Anti-Facist organizing; as we should be engaging popular opinion to make bigotry unpopular (and dangerous to publicly endorse).

@shel @chosafine@instance.business
There are a few in Amsterdam where it is like office-as-a-service. As a company (nearly always a start-up) you out-source all the office stuff and just rent a number of desk and time-share meetingrooms.

The basic premise seems smart and even a good way to share resources, combat waste and meet some other companies.

But I was in one, it is sterile, lacks a soul, is really expensive and contains only tech bro's/ladies.

Have any services banned Europeans in order to avoid having to comply with #GDPR?

@julianruf @seanl
If your business model is gathering ridiculous amounts of data, unrelated to the service you are offering, on uninformed customers, it is going to be hard to comply with the new rules where you have to explicitly state (amongst other things) what you are gathering and with what purpose.

I think it is telling that in these companies privacy and security are so badly guaranteed that they prefer shutting out a entire continent instead of fixing it.

Polyurethane wheels, that's the real deal breaker. It's hard to underestimate how much of the success of Rollerskates, skateboards, skeelers, scooters, etc, all rely on this magical, durable, grippy yet soft material.

But I feel we are taking this far too literally. That looks like a really fun character design and I think this will totally work! Just hope your DM doesn't favour mud/snow/sand too much :chat_jpg:
