What made Anno think it would be soooo funny for Asuka to call Shinji a pervert whenever he fuckin does anything, or for Shinji to just "slip" and end up on top of a fresh-out-of-the-shower Rei. What an incredibly cishet-normative view of gender relations. Great plot, good characters, but the fanservice is a fucking dumpster fire.
