As someone who doesn't always know what to "say" on social media, and since we're all awkwardly getting used to Mastodon together, here's the best advice I've ever read about social media from the wise Buster Benson from a few years ago.
@daveskull81 Yeah, I think for me personally I like to know who exactly I'm talking to, and on networks it feels like I'm speaking into a dark room and then a bunch of people turn on flashlights pointing at their faces and it's like "WOAH I didn't know who was listening." But I always feel better when I just start to share stuff.
@kev_mcg I know what you mean. Social networks have always felt like places where everyone is yelling into the void that is the internet. But, I think that is outweighed by the importance of expressing oneself.
@kev_mcg So... should I tweet about my team or not? I'm so confused! :sunglasses:
@leo you should!
@kev_mcg Well in that case, GO generic sport ball team. My team is better than yours!
@leo I prefer the City Default Standards over the Generics, but best of luck moving the round object through the designated playing area!
@kev_mcg that's actually kinda deep, nice
@kev_mcg Those are good words. It is important to post on social media about the things you care about. Whether it is politics, sports, or tacos, post about what makes you happy and / or think.
