@kensanata You are too old. Get off our Internet.
On my Librem 13 laptop by Purism, all the web pages where I need to read stuff (all of them?) are zoomed to 120% to 133%. What am I doing wrong?
Oh wow http://www.schaffter.ca/mom/mom-01.html
Check out @dbucklin 's unix file archive! A lot of gems in there!
โThe Beloved Community Licenseโ is the most radical thing I've read all year. https://douglass.io/the-bcl
I just read about Thรคlmann. ยซHe was arrested by the Gestapo in 1933 and held in solitary confinement for eleven years, before being shot in Buchenwald on Adolf Hitler's orders in 1944.ยป https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Th%C3%A4lmann
I love these old political ads from the 1930s. Strong colors, reduced palette, symbols, type, it all comes together.
These caterpillars are big!
How I transfer images from an iPad app to my laptop: Share With Mail, Close Mail and choose to Save Draft. Now I have access to the thing from outside the Appleworld. Gaaaaaah1!
Listening to this podcast and now I want to listen to super fast Beethoven!!

ยซIn 1993, John Gilmore famously said that "The Internet interprets censorship as damage and routes around it." That was technically true when he said it but only because the routing structure of the Internet was so distributed. As centralization increases, the Internet loses that robustness, and censorship by governments and companies becomes easier.ยป

I think I just have to play #Skyrim forever.
Trying to play Dark Souls. This sucks the joy out of everything.
What am I doing wrong? I get the feeling that somewhere in the last few weeks I switched a setting such that Ctrl+W no longer closes my #Firefox (actually #PureBrowser, i.e. an older Firefox) tabs except for some very specific circumstances. It no longer works in text areas or in the address bar, for example. Typical example: Ctrl-T creates a new tab. I new to hit TAB twice (no more, no less) and then Ctrl-W will close the tab. Who knows what I can do for more aggressive tab closure?
Ok 500 chars posts aren't enough for me any more :/ You cannot quote anything with more complexity than a limerick...
A story of electronics recycling, and how the "dumping ground" of the developing countries may not be as bad as the press reports.
Want a quick feel for the future of Web publishing?
1. npm install -g dat
2. Ask friend to install Beaker Browser (https://beakerbrowser.com/install/)
3. mkdir mysite && cd mysite && echo "Hello, world!" >> index.html
4. dat share
5. Ask friend to open the DAT URL youโre given in Beaker Browser. Theyโll see the index page with โHello, world!โ
There's a list of European representatives apparently still undecided about those horrible upload filters they keep proposing all over the world. Ugh! If one of them is a representative of your country, you might give them a call or write them an email or whatever one does these days? https://edri.org/files/Copyright_JURI_MEPs_undecided.pdf (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal) #copyright #uploadfilter
Is markdown-pdf, the node module that converts #Markdown files to PDFs, still the only good solution out there? Pandoc goes via LaTeX and that's a pain and back when I tried it, I wasn't too impressed. I'm looking at lots of StackExchange and related answers and it's all either GitHub services, or other websites, or to HTML only (and HTML to PDF is a pain for writing a booklet). Using markdown-pdf: how can I see the temporary HTML so that I can write my CSS?
@kensanata @technomancy Cool discovery: SUIT, a GUI framework built on LรVE.
