Listening to part two of the podcast on the Portuguese revolution. I’m fascinated because I arrived in Portugal in November 1981 and went to the German primary school, not understanding much of anything. But I do remember the shanty towns, the super tiny miserable houses some people live in – including the woman who cleaned our house once a week. Also, the prominence of football. Sporting vs Benfica – apparently very important.
