Connecting the iPad to the PO-33 was much less of hassle: slicing worked much better, humming was much lower. What am I doing wrong? Something about grounding? Both are battery driven so this is not the AC current I'm hearing, I think. 2/2
Using the Animoog to generate sound, sampling it on the PO-33 (no drum kit, though), and playing two or three bars to make some jingles worked nicely, though! https://alexschroeder.ch/podcast/jingle-6.mp3
@kensanata If they are battery driven, it will neither be the grounding, I'd think. 🤔
@kensanata I don't know a thing about audio recording, but if you are using 3,5mm jack there's quite a lot of variants (TRRS, different lengths) and some devices work better with particular variants than others. Sometimes it helps to make sure it's plugged-in firmly. I had even luck one time having the jack slightly "unplugged". Analog magic. :)
@ondra Interesting. I will try a few more cables!
@kensanata what's that notebook? :O
@gsora My laptop which happens to have no Audio In! Gah!
@kensanata oh no! You would need a good audio interface anyway, right? :P
@gsora Yeah, just ordered a Behringer U-Control UCA222. Not sure about “good”. 😀
