I liked the article on Christopher Alexander’s A Timeless Way of Building written by @ckeen

The gap between his pattern language and the pattern language in software development is important. And Christopher Alexander’s book is a good read. I recommend it. It’s about usability, design, empowerment, life, happiness, and of course also buildings.

@kensanata Thanks! Have you read the other books? I am about to start the pattern language and thinking about ordering The Oregon Experiment....

@ckeen I think I have the first three at home. The first one is the most universally applicable. Later books are about life itself.

@ckeen if you ever do read The Phenomenon Of Life, please let us know how it went!

@kensanata Also somehow the username did not get expanded, so I didn't get a notification. (Also for some reason I have not been following this account, shame on me!)

@ckeen Hm, that’s because I first posted it elsewhere, then deleted it and copied the text to this new toot – but apparently typing an account expands it but pasting an account doesn’t. Makes sense.
