The Mastodon drama about trending tags makes me glad all my free software is unpopular. I’m not taking this kind of talk at work where I get paid thousands a month – I’m sure as hell not willing to be treated like that for less.

@kensanata Arguments about this always seem to happen in environments where you don't fully control the UI, especially web. If you had a disagreement about say, Emacs, then you just go and do the change yourself as you see fit.

@kensanata I remember some arguments over Emacs Wiki though, out of which a MediaWiki instance for Emacs was born. Was that hard on you?

@sajith Well, it’s complicated. The longer answer is here: alexschroeder.ch/wiki/2012-03- (and in the comments at the bottom)

@kensanata @sajith I like EmacsWiki - I use it rarely as I barely use Emacs, but it is the most helpful resource out there. And as a MediaWiki contributor I can say that your engine is not bad and I like it (as a reader, never contributed)

@saper @kensanata Agree! I pretty much live in Emacs and EmacsWiki is still the best resource out there in the Internet.

@kensanata I remember reading that! I admire your civil and level-headed approach there.
