@keithpp That's possible in theory, but in practice there is zero chance of the company rebelling against investors who own almost half of the company and have invested $100M. Williams or almost anybody else would rather burn the company than burn investors so badly that he has no hope of substantial investment in the future. If he still wants to build something to fill that rule, he'll burn Medium down and do something new.
This horse is dead.
@banks If they own less than half, then the Vulture Capitalists can be burnt. Ev Williams can make the #Medium platform Open Source, cover with a Creative Commons license. For him this is small change. But I am not opposed to an alternative being created, with the ability to transfer content. I have detailed how it can be self-funding. @mattcropp @matthewdeyn @Wiki_Vic
@banks It is fortunate campaigners do not take such a pathetic stance when faced with problems.
@keithpp You're not discussing a plausible devlopment. The VC damage is done. Medium can't escape that; the time for radical change is long past.
If you want a platform embodying theses ideals, it's time to look elsewhere and give up on Medium.
