I find it aesthetically pleasing that combo decks in Magic: The Gathering - a game nominally about wizard duels - are mostly about violating conservation of energy.
"So we take this sword, right? It's an ancient magical artifact intended to empower the meek."
Uh huh...
"We smelt it down and make a small robot."
Sure...
"The robot is small enough to activate the sword's magic."
