If you're a fan of indie games, and particularly RPGs, I strongly recommend you take a moment to check out The Spirit Engine 2. It's a great game with beautiful music and a unique art style and combat system. It's free, too. That's "free" as in "actually free," not "free to play."
Just... the art style alone. I mean, dang. Games simply don't look like this! The 2D "positioning matters" combat is pretty unique too. It precedes Darkest Dungeon by a decade and TSE-2 actually does more with it than Darkest Dungeon does. https://octodon.social/media/1ttHQ9u0Uh9QfpXWgoI https://octodon.social/media/oTWdcdO1lChStHvxBCo
@kaye I was curious until I saw that it was basically Windows-only.
@starbreaker Sadly, yeah. I think it should run in WINE, though it's been years and years since I tried.
TSE-2 has been almost completely forgotten since it went freeware in 2010, which is incredibly sad. The game is *so good,* but it never got the attention it deserved. It's one of my favourite games of all time, but I can never get anyone to play it.
