Put the original HDD on my probook 6450b for a BIOS upgrade. It has windows 7 on it but i've never used it. The AV hasn't been updated since 1143 days and anyway is unlicensed 😂
It's fast on Linux, but the struggle is real with Windows, the fan goes berserk and stuff.
I'll remove the Debian GNU/Linux partitions and re-expand windows to use the 250GB, then upgrade everything, since now i've a SSD for Linux on this old lappy.
Well Debian has been successfully deleted, the NTFS partition takes the whole disk and the MBR has been restored. I had to deal with a long CHKDSK indeed.
Thank you rescatux (https://www.supergrubdisk.org/rescatux/)
I've 184 updates to download and install. I wonder how many times i'll need to reboot.
Well it's done with the live update, 4 hours for 3 years of update is not that much - but it's slower than a common GNU/Linux update for the same time of inactivity.
Now it's time to reboot - another legacy thing that Microsoft should get rid of ✊
This time it's really over.
Note to self: plug this hard drive more often so updates are less painful ^__^
Ah, Windows told me that all updates have been applied but it hasn't. False promises :|
