PDF is one of the most nightmarish formats to work with. Programmatic generation, automatic data extraction, etc, are all sisyphean tasks with Adobe's format.

@labib they are as long as someone from mastodon.social follows someone on octodon.social.

They don't have to follow you in particular, but as long as there is one link between two instances they're counted as federated and the fed timeline has everything public from both. :)
