It's weird because, I learned how to pronounce Spanish surprisingly well, but I can't "switch". If I have to say an English word in a Spanish sentence, I'll either pause before and after, or I'll accidentally speak the English in a Spanish accent... I don't really understand why
For the record, I don't think it's embarrassing to pronounce English in any accent, but I do think it's embarrassing when I say "pop tarts" in an accent that I never had until recently
@jordyd my friend who speaks Spanish as a first language did that with “Palm Olive” soap once...
This led to a very embarrassing situation in one of my classes wherein I said "pop tarts" as if it were Spanish
