If y'all wondered why America lost its electronics industry:
I have encountered more image descriptions on Mastodon in 24 hours than I have in Twitter in a couple of years. Seriously. I'm not exaggerating.
As a blind person, this means a lot to me. If you read this and you describe your images, thank you so, so, so much on behalf of all of us. If you don't, now you know you'll be helping random Internet strangers make sense of your posts by typing in a few more words than usual.

Anyone have any recommendations for building a resource-oriented REST API in Python (preferably) or JS?
I'm not looking for something like Flask or FastAPI to build a REST-like API, I'm looking for actual REST - you know, where you do a `GET HTTP/1.1 /` and you get a list of links to valid sub-resources, and follow the links from there.
I have re-entered the world of blogs, by looking at my RSS reader again. I performed spring cleaning of old feeds, and would be happy to receive suggestions for blogs on: a) game design, b) networking (protocols, etc), c) cryptography.
There are probably quite a few other suggestions I'd check out, so don't feel restricted to these.
"The heating effect of carbon dioxide persists for 10,000 years or more, absent unproven technologies for scrubbing carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. In contrast, the sun-dimming particles in question drop out in a year or less, meaning that if you come to rely on geoengineering for survival, you need to keep it up essentially forever. Think of it as climate methadone. And if we are ever forced to stop, we are hit with dangerous withdrawal symptoms – a catastrophic “termination shock” wherein a century of pent-up global heating emerges within a decade."
Dismantling capitalism is our only hope, technology won't save us.
I write bugs for a living, pretty cool eh?
