Years go by, people change places, the names and conventions are not the same but sooner or later you get a mob of bullies who either do it for "the lulz" or for some kind of purity crusade.

Grow, rot, flee, rinse, repeat.

So, JavaScript is 25 years old today. The oldest case I can think of of it being treated as an assembly language is Haxe, released 15 years ago. Is there an even earlier occurence of a language that compiles to JavaScript I'm missing?

Very cool -- teddit.net is a new privacy-friendly Reddit frontend, similar to Invidious / YouTube, Bibliogram / Instagram, and Nitter / Twitter.

Source code: codeberg.org/teddit/teddit

- No JavaScript or ads
- All requests go through the backend, client never talks to Reddit
- Prevents Reddit from tracking your IP or JavaScript fingerprint
- Lightweight (teddit frontpage: ~30 HTTP requests with ~270 KB of data downloaded vs. Reddit frontpage: ~190 requests with ~24 MB)

Every manpage should have an EXAMPLES that shows how to do the very basic, most obvious thing with the command line tool or library function.

Do have people feedback with M/monit (mmonit.com) as a monitoring dashboard?

I'm using Monit for alerting and it's doing the job, but I'm missing a page for checking the current state of all the servers.

I’m native in French and fluent in English. I’m familiar with American, British and French pop culture and references.

I’ve already made a full fan-translation of a game, including graphics and TTS voices: traduction.faith/

Boosts welcome!

"(...) algorithms do not see the world with mathematical detachment but instead tend to replicate or even amplify historical cultural biases. (...) Experiments by WIRED using the official photos of 10 men and 10 women from the California State Senate suggest the study’s findings still hold. (...) Google’s top suggested labels noted a smile for only one of the men, but for seven of the women. The company’s AI vision service labeled all 10 of the men as “businessperson,” often also with “official” or “white collar worker.” Only five of the women senators received one or more of those terms. Women also received appearance-related tags, such as “skin,” “hairstyle,” and “neck,” that were not applied to men."

I’m told that many Germans are stockpiling cheese and sausages in anticipation of a COVID lockdown — planning, in other words, for a Wurst-Käse scenario

Remember that time before this constant whirlwind of attention-grabbing we have to endure? When people took the time to actually get complete and accurate information instead of building an entire worldview on tightly-cropped screenshots of clickbait headlines?

That was neat
