Among the proposed features for PHP 7.1 was explicitly typed class properties ( https://wiki.php.net/rfc/typed-properties ). Anyone who uses PHP on a daily basis knows how useful type hints in function signatures are life-savers, and thus how useful type checks would also be for class properties.

I think every project should kick out its founding members after a while, as time passes they turn into reactionary gatekeepers and block progress.
