0. I think that getting a significant fraction of the social graph to leave Facebook will encounter resistance/ probability of failure.
Two strategies for overcoming that resistance:
@nerdcodegeode 1. Gradual: use a FB alternative like Mastodon or MeWe for some functional purpose to get people on the platform and using it, perhaps alongside Facebook. Then, try to expand the number of uses for that alternative until it has effectively replaced FB for that social circle.
@nerdcodegeode 2. Sudden: Get a conspiracy of likeminded people together to get memberships, then agree to a date to publicly post on FB about switching. "I'm now on MeWe. Here's how you can sign up to see my stuff..." Like MeToo, visibility is enhanced by everyone posting about it on FB at the same time.
