The fifth annual Gender Census is now open until 1st March 2018!
http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/gendercensus2018/
It's for anyone whose genders (or lack thereof) aren't described by the M/F binary. It's pretty short and easy, and the results are useful in academia, business, and self-advocacy.
I wrote a blog post about the new game I'm just starting to work on, and how my game ideas in general start from either content or form: http://squinky.me/2018/01/30/designing-from-form-vs-content/
Hey everybody! What's up?
Been away for a while now: nothing much to say😉
As i did some #origami for somebody, to wish her luck & good health, i came to think "hey! That's another of my hobby i never told about ".
So, here we go for an origami a day, for a hundred days.
Feel free to comment, join (no topics), or whatever.
For the first one, probably the most famous in the origami world: the crane.

Here's the final trailer for Secret Little Haven, my game about a trans girl discovering herself through fandom, chats, and the early internet!
It'll be releasing next month, so stay tuned!
It's not every day that you get a hand-written letter from Kazakhstan!
[taps mic] now would be a good time to announce that I'm working on a list of Games With LGBTQ Characters Releasing in 2018 for @JStationX!
If you're making a game that fits that description please @ me! I cannot guarantee that your game will be featured but I would love to hear about it :)
The ever eloquent Ursula Le Guin on the use of the "singular they"
[2] but it's so very important to remember that not all portrayals of an LGBTQ character or story, created by an LGBTQ creator, are going to be perfect or positive or to your liking. Nor should they be.
So often our creations as LGBTQ people reflect our experiences as a person in a homophobic and transphobic society and should we not have the creative license to express that?*
*In a way that is responsible and nuanced and not just done for a kneejerk reaction etc. etc.?
I think it's really dangerous to go all 'your fave is problematic [YFIP]' on LGBTQ creators.
Our work absolutely should be critiqued and crticized and picked apart. Being LGBTQ doesn't excuse you from backlash or constructive feedback, even if you're writing about LGBTQ issues.
‘Social scientists have warned Zuck all along that the Facebook theory of interaction would make people angry and miserable’
“Since the earliest days of Facebook, social scientists have sent up warnings saying that the ability to maintain separate "contexts" (where you reveal different aspects of yourself to different people) was key to creating and maintaining meaningful relationships”
