Working on the book scanner I made with a co-worker a few years ago to get more issues of early alumni news letters online.

Not as fun as the work in conservation, but nice to change gears occasionally.

It reminds me of the character in If on a Winter's Night that is trying to unlearn his literacy in order to engage with the world more viscerally. I cannot turn off the part of my brain that wants to decipher so that I can just experience.

I was reminded of this when @Gogogadgetpants was talking about writing in margins the other day. (I totally support this practice if it's not a library book!)

This came into the conservation lab years ago and I love having it around as an example of how books are treated (occasionally).
