I have an on-again off-again relationship with learning . I think I need a project to kick myself in the butt. Something small enough that I can manage it in my ever decreasing free time but large enough that it's not completely trivial.

I'd welcome suggestions if anyone has them!

Just heard someone at the coffee shop say they have a coin flip app on their phone. And I thought, "well that's silly, why not just, you know, flip a coin?"

And then I realized it's probably been months since I've had an actual coin in my pocket. Well played random stranger, well played.

Two things amaze me about my laptop.

1. How poor a design choice it was to put the power button so close to backspace.
2. How relatively rare it is that I accidentally turn it off while doing something important.

Meant to get hot chocolate at the grocery store. Forgot to get hot chocolate at the grocery store. Currently experiencing hot chocolate deficiency.

@pixelpaperyarn Oh wow, that's amazing! Thanks for posting it!

> Entrepreneurship is like one of those carnival games where you throw darts or something.

> Middle class kids can afford one throw. Most miss. A few hit the target and get a small prize. A very few hit the center bullseye and get a bigger prize. Rags to riches! The American Dream lives on.

> Rich kids can afford many throws. If they want to, they can try over and over and over again until they hit something and feel good about themselves. Some keep going until they hit the center bullseye, then they give speeches or write blog posts about "meritocracy" and the salutary effects of hard work.

> Poor kids aren't visiting the carnival. They're the ones working it.

@TotallyArbitrary This was me last year. Except I had two group projects at the same time. And I still have something like 10 credits left so I may not be done with them yet.

It occurs to me that I should probably get around to actually changing my clocks at some point.....

Whoa! Firefox quantum is quite zippy compared to Firefox not quantum.

My beloved Vimperator is no longer supported but there is Tridactyl. It doesn't have all the features of Vimperator yet but that is, apparently, the goal and it's usable-ish now. So yay!

@seanl Worked like a charm. Thanks, much appreciated!

@seanl
Awesome, thanks! I'll give it a try.

@seanl

I've got an LG5 and I'm using the stock phone/voicemail app. Provider (if it matters) is Fido in (if it matters) Quebec.

Anybody know a good way/app to save voicemail as an mp3 (or wav or whatever) on Android? Some tax scammer just left me a message and I'd like to save the audio to attach when I report it. Thanks in advance!

@RussSharek

I have no idea what's happening there...but I love it!

Haven't really played for a long time but picked up Prey yesterday. Haven't gotten very far yet and I'll only have a couple of hours to play on weekends but really enjoying it so far.

Backed this on kickstarter a while back and the book finally came yesterday! Excited!
