Why does everybody think the best way to talk online is to broadly pronounce what everyone else is supposed to do and be?
@Guide42XYZ I can't tell if you're enthusiastically agreeing with me, or if you're mocking me and telling me to shut up.
@jason When it comes to unpleasant people (or bots) on Mastadon, I just quietly mute them and move on. Trying to convince them that they're "wrong" on the Internet just adds to the noise.
I'm not going to tell you what to do. In fact, it is going to strengthen my resolve to set examples instead of prescriptions, because I'm pretty sure that I've done that in my timelines in fits of emotion.
