@jangles mastodon is only one of the software applications used to connect to the federation, the other software works differently. Behaviour of things like CW should be consistent across instances that use mastodon (as long as the instance updates to new versions when they come out), but may not be the same when using other software.
But does that work on every Mastodon instance? I'm sure I read somewhere that respecting CW isn't universal, depends on the instance.
Liking the CW feature in toots over an extended converstion - every toot is also behind the CW. That's pretty good.

"Pepsi, United, and the Speed of Corporate Shame" https://hbr.org/2017/04/pepsi-united-and-the-speed-of-corporate-shame < good analysis in the Harvard Biz Review, contrasting Pepsi's and United Airlines' behaviours regarding their respective PR storms. While Pepsi will recover quickly, United's is without doubt an epic negative event that's hard to see what recovery for United will look like

Listening to radio news about Syria and the chemical weapons attack last week that led to the US missile strike. I don't understand why the US can't provide clear proof that the chemical attack was done by the Syrian regime. Instead, all we get is the word 'alleged,' constant denials by Assad and the Russians and attempts to shift blame to the rebels. What gives?
Seems that every time I look at Twitter, there's yet another report or revelation about United Airlines and it's passenger brutality. #UnitedJourney

For the record there are no co-founders of Mastodon. Not in a startup way (it's not a startup) nor in a development way (I started the project on my own)
