Thinking about other instances. I registered another account on another instance yet as an individual tooter, I can't really see a need. I don't have an inclination to spend lots of time to-ing and fro-ing between account instances.

A pretty quiet offline Easter so far. Blog maintenance with a new theme coming. Some server issues to address with the help of the hosting wizards, and that's about it. Usual service tomorrow :)

@emdeesee I'm not put off, either, as long as the CGI doesn't get in the way, as it were. I think the two in Rogue One were very poorly done, and very surprising to me that it happened

Noticing more and more emoji featuring in users' profiles, way beyond the fake 'verified' check mark. I just added one (a lightbulb!) to mine. I like this, adds some depth to a profile as you look at someone's and try to get a little more insight into that person. Starting to notice this on Twitter too. Gosh, is Mastodon influencing Twitter?

@emdeesee good points. After I saw the film at the cinema when it came out, I asked friends who I know hadn't seen the original film, either at all or for many years, what they thought. Everyone had negative comment about the CGI characters, ie, that they were so obviously unreal. My view on that massively reinforced when I saw the Blu-ray yesterday

But does that work on every Mastodon instance? I'm sure I read somewhere that respecting CW isn't universal, depends on the instance.

Liking the CW feature in toots over an extended converstion - every toot is also behind the CW. That's pretty good.

@ljpg that's a good point. I saw the film in the cinema when it came out. Negative reaction then to Leia and Tarkin. Watching the Blu-ray, negative reaction even stronger

@kensanata I guess my feeling about that CGI was how that woody expression just wasn't like Peter Cushing in the original SW, so obviously a computer generation. I imagine the creators expected you to not notice that.

My wife and I watched the #RogueOne: A #StarWars Story Blu-ray last night. Terrific story-telling. But, whoever thought that CGI Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia were a good idea are sadly mistaken. Exceptionally poor representations of the deceased actors that diminish the story. Such a pity. If you've seen the movie, do you agree?
