How the hell are we raising men who think this is ok? https://octodon.social/media/O1XgVf4LvSw9VwLzH3Y
@jalefkowit
We need to be punishing companies at least as much as individuals when these abuses come to light. Uber should have fucking vanished.
@seanl Yeah. If the company knows this sort of thing is going on, and does nothing, they ought to have some share in the responsibility for it.
@jalefkowit
They always know. For every case that comes to light there are hundreds people reported but were blown off by HR and/or management.
@jalefkowit Pretty sure they _know_ it's not okay, they just do it anyway because they think they can get away with it. 😠
Not so sure.
Here in Montreal, A girl was raped 2 years ago by a taxi driver.
The trial was this week.
Who do you think said that "because the girl is fat and not really cute, she should be glad"?
The judge. The judge said it.
So, no, they don't always _know_ it is not okay....
@kingu_platypus_gidora @jalefkowit
Here's hoping they're not a judge very much longer.
I hope too... 😟
@jalefkowit
Even with their upbringing, it would be far more rare in a culture where high performance (ratings in this case) was not allowed to excuse bad behavior.
