Dear Lazyweb: is there a USB 2.0 to USB Micro adapter (of the kind you'd use to connect a USB memory stick to a smarphone) out there that clips onto a keyring?
@TheRealMe Yeah, exactly. Preferably with the connector housed in a sturdy enclosure, so it can stand up to living in my pocket with my keys etc.
@TheRealMe Amazon has some (like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014FC9YT6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3M3L1LVMVCRB5) but they're all kinda clumsily designed and made by companies I've never heard of. Would be awesome if Anker made one, but I don't think they do, alas.
@jalefkowit I don't know your DIY skills and available tools, but it looks like there is enough space to drill a hole.
I have seen plenty of small, plastic OTG adapters, but none with a hole. Most of them are pretty cheap, I would just get one and drill a hole and hope you don't hit the wiring 😄
The one on Amazon is not an OTG connector, it's male-male.
@TheRealMe Ooh, good catch on the Amazon link, thanks! One more to scratch off the list 😑
@jalefkowit Not sure if you have to connect to many different usb sticks, or if you just have to be able to connect 1 stick to your phone tablet, but I think I also recently saw a memory stick with built in OTG adapter. It was like a regular male usb connecter with a retractable micro usb plug.
@jalefkowit So, something like this but with a hole/eyelet for a keyring?
