I saw a request to block whole instances because they speak a different language. I say why not get some translation api like google translate or bing so that other languages could be translated?

Many people are hopeful about the idea of universal basic income, and if there were a referendum on it I would probably vote yes. But it's not where we should be pinning our hopes.
It's perfectly possible for UBI to coexist with a total dystopia. As more jobs become automated, UBI could keep us in a state of suspended animation, neither living nor dead - but surviving in involuntary idleness and atrophy, competing fiercely for precarious work that lets us live properly for brief periods.

@brunodias I was once told by someone that they used "federation" even when "confederation" was more correct because they didn't want people to confuse it with the (Civil War era) Confederacy. Racists ruin everything, I guess?

I always wish that we could have nice things like liquid fluoride thorim reactors and space elevators and light rail systems for mass transit - but then I realize we'd rather have dancing with the stars and crappy rail service that would embarrass the 1870's

Tonight began with dodgeball finals. our team played decently, but we were eliminated in the first round. Then I was off to a Gothsicles and Squid Lid show. the latter puts on a very great performance, with some very cool blacklight masks.
