@ikea_femme In the box you type in click on the little globe icon and and go down to "Direct." Then just tag the people you want to send a message to and type your message.

@ikea_femme You do it by setting your distribution - the icon between the camera and CW to Direct.
@ikea_femme the admin of your instance can access them though. (read, dm in your name)

@ikea_femme Yes. You can control who sees an individual post in the lower left. See that picture of a globe? Click on it and there's a dropdown menu. The DM option is at the bottom of the list.
