Hmmm, I just had a thought.
The main problem with my thesis project was I really didn't have a good way of knowing whether or not my results were worth believing. But I know a LOT more about statistics now than I did then. Which still isn't actually a lot, but I'm also surrounded by people who know way more still. It might be worth revisiting; I might get a paper out of it after all. Maybe two.
Plus we have like four more years of data now, including bits I selected for observation.

Does anyone know why #emscripten is so terrible? Every time I try to make it work to do game programming for the browser I end up with everyone dead, the airship in flames, and I've lost my hat.

By the way, I've noticed a LOT of programs save PNGs, esp small PNGs really badly. If you are using PNGs for icons on your instance, make sure to run PNGGauntlet on them.

I feel like there /ought/ to be some really fantastic sounding choral music that arranges the rhythm and lyrics so that sibilants and plosives become a de facto percussion.
As far as I can tell there isn't and to the extent that there is it isn't very good.
This is sort of disappointing.
(The examples I can think of are sort of cheating anyway since they fall into outright sound effects and are mostly onomatopoeic.)
Aso, apparently the #mastodon toot character limit doesn't apply to image alt tags.
Note to self: upload a 1-pixel image with a 1-gb alt tag and see what happens. On a private instance, of course.
