what common household DIY task requires over an hour of continuous power drilling? trying to work out what my neighbours are doing but the only thing I can think of is “route out the entire wall until all that remains is dust”

same thing has been happening in the apt. upstairs from mine for the last couple days, but they were hammering (dowels?) in between. I can only assume they are mounting a mosaic piece by piece at this point.
