Facebook sent me an article about how to tell fake news from real news.
Well, thank god for that. The US media will be right as rain thanks to Facebook's tireless efforts in championing objectivity in all its forms. I'll be able to sleep well tonight, knowing that Facebook will have my best interests at heart until the very day I experience that sweetest relief of death.
(Can y'all taste the sarcasm here? I really want you to.)
@DNA Well, I can see where it comes from a good place, and it was one of those things where it was on the front page so everyone saw it (they didn't literally *send* it to me, I could have worded that better).
But at the same time, it's hilarious to me just how futile it is. We're at the point where people believe what makes them feel good whether or not it's true. Now a bunch of people are going to become offended that FB "burst their bubble" or some mindless shit like that.
@groofay VERY true. Patient education is going to be the key to bringing people back from Schadenfreude posting.
@twitter Thank you, that was much appreciated.
@groofay This is just.... stupefying. I could understand it if say, you were POSTING news that had turned out to be fake, but really... frakk off, Facebook.
