@jalefkowit I usually use Tax Slayer, it's all online and seems pretty decent. I'm not self employed, so I don't know what kind of nightmare that is during tax season.

@TheAdmin @FrankN @mhoyle I think the workaround is to @ them and then click their name from your tweet. It works if you know their username, but if not Mastodon is deliberately designed to not be able to search for usernames to prevent harassment, if I remember correctly.

@roadrunner I like your hair! My sister had blue hair for a while when I was a kid, so it always brings back good memories when I see someone with blue hair :)

@brwarner Nothing interesting yet, the moon was out and very bright so it limited what the camera could pick up due to the light pollution. I did find out that Steady Cam will attempt to stabilize the camera while on the tripod, which causes the long exposure to smear. Luckily, I live in rural Missouri so city lights aren't causing too much light pollution. I'm definitely going to keep refining my technique and try to get some nice photos. I hope I can capture the Milky Way at some point.

Well, that rabbit hole led to a collapsed tunnel with a sign that said "sorry I guess": the Galaxy S7 Edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 version has a locked bootloader that is unlikely to be broken. In essence, I can root my phone thanks to the awesome hackers who risked their devices to bring root access to everyone, but I can't install a custom ROM even if I am rooted. There are also reports of poor performance and higher than normal heat generation. Sad, but I might just try Nova launcher instead.

Just tried my hand at some photography with my wife's DSLR. I'm still figuring out the best way to take the photos (ISO settings, delay, exposure time, and the like). It was a lot of fun though, and very relaxing.

@patrickod I think the devs are working on the push server, and hole to have it working soon

Wow, it seems like almost all the custom ROM development for the Galaxy S7 Edge is for the Exynos models. I guess I understand why, since almost the entire world uses the Exynos processor instead of the Snapdragon, but it's unfortunate that a flagship phone might still be passed over either way. I'll keep looking though!

@guillen Looking at that link you sent, I should clarify for any passers-by: I have the US Snapdragon model. I'm sure Resurrection Remix has a Snapdragon ROM, so I will still check them out :)

Thanks again!

I go back and forth with wanting to root and flash my phone. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge. Has anyone else rooted and flashed this phone and have a recommendation for a good ROM? I used to use Paranoid Android and had a good experience with it. I am very attached to the Edge panel drawer since I can have quick access to any of my apps without having to pull an Apple and go back to the homescreen to start a new one or sort through the Rolodex-style app card screen. Anybody have recommendations?

@saper I can't imagine cabling after 48 hours awake, that sounds awful. Caffeine doesn't seem to affect me like it does other people, so I can only go for so long. You are definitely right about mistakes and sleep deprivation.

@saper Luckily, I am still hourly so I do get overtime. Definitely the silver lining to this situation! I could definitely use a nap, though.

My sleep schedule is all out of whack. I had to stay up all night on Sunday working on a customer VM so it would be functional as soon as possible. I slept through most of what my normal work hours are yesterday, and now my mind and body are like "Ooh! We like that sleeping during the day think, let's do that!" but responsibility and scheduling do not allow for that.

@Trittle What kind of music do you like?

Mastodon needs a quality "vim or emacs" shouting match.

@skroo We can start one: Vim! Only because it's installed by default on most distros, I'm not a programmer, and I know how to use it. All you emacs users have to actually install it before you use it, so inefficient.

@SteveJohnson They even have added the Emoji check next to their name. I followed them because it's a funny joke. Someone did the same for Trump too, although it's obvious it's a joke because they are doing a lovers quarrel thing where Trump complains about Steve Bannon XD
