I find it rather absurd that some older adults will tell someone who is middle aged that they probably aren't old enough to remember....I was in my 30s and independent during the time she was referring to. Makes me want to say "maybe you are too old to use reasoning skills".
@mslori Maybe you look very young! I am guilty of this but mostly trying to be polite and assume people are younger than they are.
@generica she's known me only as an adult, 25+ years. She doesn't think before speaking. She knew me during the time period she was referring to.
@mslori Might she be chronology challenged? Diagnosing with no medical knowledge is my specialty.
@generica I think it is more a case of trying to make herself out to be more wise than anyone else. Personality challenged, maybe.
