pkgsrc is a nice hidden gem. wonder how i missed this one for so long pkgsrc.org/

This is NetBSD's ports collection but they went a step further and made it work independently of NetBSD. Works on almost all Unix-like systems and there are precompiled packages for the most important ones

obviously any Linux or BSD system is going to have its own package manager nowadays but it's really nice that even if you're using something obscure like Minix, Haiku or QNX, you can install pkgsrc and a lot of its packages should just work
