They have a winter sale now with some great discounts, so here's a thread of Linux friendly games I've played and loved (and maybe some I'd love to play).

Some games are on sale for less than 24 hours, while others are on sale for 5 more days. So hurry up!

Jesus! I just played a game against a human online, and I was winning so much I felt bad for the other player. Until the very end when I made a couple of mistakes and we ended up in exactly this same position! And then they won! smh! Great game!

Have you heard of the Royal game of Ur?

It's a 4000 year old game found in a royal gravesite in the ancient city of Ur. What's truly amazing about it is that we've also found a clay tablet with the rules for it! The oldest rule book in the world!

I had not heard of it, until I found this beautiful Free and open source online digital version of it! It looks great, and it's fun too! And you can play two player locally

Give it a go and let me know what you think!

Happy Public Domain Day 2021! We should be able to celebrate a lot more works becoming free each year (terms are indefensibly long, even if you believe that copyright law itself has merit), but let's celebrate the growth of the commons regardless. This article has a good overview of some works that are now free:
