I feel like GIMP is a bit of an overkill when I just need to crop and adjust the brightness/contrast a bit. Any recommendations for a desktop app for this purpose? Needs to be light weight and good looking in Ubuntu/Gnome. Thanks!

@forteller I already use #Shutter to take screenshots (and recommend, mostly), so I use it's built in editor when doing those kinds of things. It doesn't do brightness though, afaict.

@forteller #Shotwell, which comes pre-installed with Ubuntu 16.04 and got the ability to handle single photos precisely because GIMP was an overkill.
