Over decades a large number of parrots and/or parakeets have escaped their owners in my hometown, and become naturalized into flocks. I find this hilarious.

“I’ve seen stand-offs between the crows and the parrots,” he says, “large flocks of each. Mostly, they just yell at each other.”
@fobo Not going to lie - would love to see a Jets vs. Sharks style dance-off between the parrots/parakeets & crows......
@MissSnarkerson I made a Metafilter post on this (https://www.metafilter.com/172666/The-Wild-Parrots-of-San-Diego) and a user came in with a story along those lines :D
"They started a drunken bird brawl with the Crows, defending their tavern to my amazement and bewildering of a bunch of high school students in the process.
It seems the Crows learned that just because a bird is hanging upside down on a branch drunkenly squawking at the top of it's lungs, doesn't mean it's an easy target."
@fobo that's it - close the internet - best story today!!!
@fobo I don't know if it does anymore, but Austin had a pretty big used-to-be-pets population when I lived there 10+ years ago. They just hang out, doing bird things & being pretty 🐦
