There’s something nice about a robust backup. So nice to just start fresh and out everything back exactly where it was.
Tootdon’s trending tab is just constantly posts from switter

What the hell us wrong with me
We scare ourselves about time. About not having enough time. But medicine today is amazing and only getting better. Most of us will have plenty of time. But good health will make that time so much more valuable.
Cigarettes, weed, drinking. I hate having these vices, because they hurt me so much in the long term.
I have food in my stomach, a bed to sleep on, a roof over my head, a salaried job, and the time to tinker creatively. I am luckier than 95% of the people on the planet. I know this is the result not only of my skill, but the circumstances of my birth, random chance, and the myriad systems that infiltrate the existence of my society and species.
Even my existentialism is a luxury. Most cannot take the time away from survival, to doubt.
Humility, patience, rigor, skepticism. Continue pushing.
My whole life was a struggle and now it’s not, and it makes me really fucking uneasy.
Curled up in bed, high as hell, listening to vaporwave, looking out on the city.
Everything feels so perfect. I need to hold on to it because it’s what I’ve worked to achieve, and I must not ruminate. I will find a way through every day.
There’s so many things I want to learn. All I have to do is pick up a book and start taking notes. But the first step is always the hardest.
I’m still not thrilled with any iOS Mastodon client. Most of the UIs are competent, but all of them are kind of feature-poor. I’d love draft support and scheduled posting.
Competent cable organization remains my nemesis.
Even when I have backups of my machines, when I have to reinstall the OS, I still like starting from scratch with a fresh installation, and only restoring the things I know I need. It just feels better.
I’ve tried a handful of third party keyboards for my 10.5” iPad and every time I just go back to the first party Smart Keyboard. It’s the perfect size, profile, and weight. The only thing it’s missing is backlit keys, but I’m generally fine without that.
I don’t own enough vaporwave. Need to expand my collection.
You guys should post some more jokes about privacy policies. That shit is funny every time. And so topical.
If Apple made physical replicas of its Activity achievement pins, engraved on the back and all, I’d fucking buy them.
I’ve been lucky to catch up on a lot of reading this year. My favorites:
• Roadside Picnic (1971)
• The Gray House (2009)
• Glass House: The 1% Economy and the Shattering of the All-American Town (2017)
• A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century (1978)
Starting a new chapter.
