Nothing more derogatory than reminding people it's just another fief in Microsoft's kingdom

Dear iTunes.

Fuuuuuuck yoooooooou

I think I'd rather use rust→wasm or phoenix than try and bash my head against javascript frameworks again.

Apple is pleased to introduce our new design language: Stuff Everything In The Title Bar

I love people who have absolutely out-there style. Crazy clothing, tons of stickers on their laptops, the whole nine. But I just can't do it myself. My minimalist aesthetic demands black boots, jeans, and a t-shirt, and completely clean hardware with black wallpapers.

Just the way it be.

The contents of my brain are dying to be dumped out but I’m too fucking hungover

If guaranteed minimum income and universal healthcare were a thing, I think so many of my programmer colleagues would immediately take low-income sabbaticals to write high-quality good-ui users-first free and open source software that it would inspire tedious "how was it possible?!?" medium dot com thinkpieces for years and years

@tootboi i would love to use this as the cover for my next vaporwave album. Smashing!

Is there a really good iOS Mastodon client that has iPad/keyboard support that I’m missing? Or is that just an unfilled niche right now?

So many software projects I want to work on. Need to get my shit together and plan things out sanely.

Just bought 250 dollars worth of books off Amazon. Fuck people. Books only.

i believe there's a lot in this world to distract us, and that humans will create distractions if there aren't any. i believe this is vital. music, literature, art.

but we don't know our own power. we can make distractions that have greater pull than ambition.

the semiotics claim you can have it all. they don't mention anything about making sacrifices. but you need to. your better self is waiting for you.

Few things make me feel more anti-consumerist than the billion dollar “fitness industry”.

• a reliable bike that can actually take you from A to B > soulcycle
• YouTube > a personal coach or yoga class
• body weight & a duffel bag filled with sacks of rice > nautilus machines and free weights
• the shittiest pair of running shoes you have and a pair of shorts > needlessly hyper optimized “training gear”

you may outgrow that strategy but better that than expensive failed New Years resolutions

Here’s a fun thing. If you are a crazy person like me and put all your apps in one group, you can hard press the group to see where the notifications are coming from.

So you don’t have to scroll through the mess.

thinking of putting together a site called the Stack, where I describe not just what software/hardware I use but my foundational philosophy, minimalist principles, and other pieces of life things as a recommendations list.

For a couple of years now I've wanted a fun tight roguelike dungeon crawler for mobile. Blades looks like it might fight the bill.

finally got myself a coffee table and was like hunh, that makes the room feel better. i wonder what else i can buy—

hahaha almost got me consumerism! fuck comfort, fuck interior decoration, fuck extraneous furniture and all that bullshit.

only the essentials.

Well, I guess 1Password 6 is the version I'm using forever.

I am fine with subscription software. I've accepted it. But to take browser fill-in and put it behind a subscription is bonkers.

I love 1Password. It's the only software I've recommended without any caveats. Now it's not. Sucks.
