This restaurant is playing 00s R&B like "can't fight the moonlight" and "my love don't cost a thing" and "I don't want no scrubs" which is secretly my favorite pop subgenre.

I keep bobbing around and people keep looking at me lmao

Anyone have advice for learning ? I'm probably going to try to learn this weekend in anticipation for next weekend.

Why isn't there a generic web+shareto protocol handler used across the web? Am I missing something? All the protocol handler API does is stuff the ref into a URL, and this should be simple for any social site to handle

We got a roomba at a garage sale today and I love it so much

Ha! On scuttlebutt: "These errors are rampant and generally cause crashes and memory leaks. [...] I'm not aware of anyone who is currently able to run a stable sbot server. Instead, they just write wrappers around them that ensures that the system restarts the server on a regular basis."

I sent out an email yesterday to 3 different companies with "βœ¨πŸŽ‰βœ¨" in it.

Cross-posting is marketing for the source platform, so you shouldn't be surprised I don't think Twitter to Mastodon cross-posting is beneficial to Mastodon.

Mastodon is a social network, and talking to each other is a big part of it. If someone has setup a cross-poster and left and never checks their notifications, it's pointless for us who are here.

Reminder: it's okay, even good, to block ads, because it helps devalue your personal data and everybody else's (in a marketing context).

Stories like Cambridge Analytica and Grindr selling HIV status of its users wouldn't have happened unless your data was an extremely valuable way to sell you things.
