a tired ubisoft developer sighs before powering up the last remaining wii development kit.
it's time to port the latest release of just dance to the undying console.
Today somebody wrote me a really nice email about how they saw some open source software I published, how they were building upon it, and thanked me for it. It made feel really great. More people should send these kind of emails (myself included), it's really validating and made my week.
When future historians look at our software, they'll think the unix epoch was some religious date or when we thought the world began or something
@anymouse_404 a majority of people will give up on ripping it yes, but it won't suppress people torrenting it, unless it's unpopular.

DRM on static content (i.e. movies, music) makes so little sense to me even from a practical perspective... like obviously it is going to be possible to snatch that signal out of an HDMI cable when you convert to some other format, or you can bust out a camcorder, or worst case clamp some pins on a ribbon cable to an LCD panel. IDK why they put so much time and effort into something so futile.

Elixir seems really neat, it's on my "to-learn" list.
@snowdusk_ I got a new credit card so my heroku invoices weren't getting paid ๐ . It's fixed now.
Just for fun, tried installing #pleroma in a VM and it was super easy to get running and start fiddling with, even though I know zero about Elixir or Postgres.

'LongFurby is the creation of a 23-year-old photography student turned wedding caterer who calls themself Aloe. "She was an Idea that I just had to get out and onto paper," Aloe told VICE in an email. Inspired by body distorting memes like Longcat and their collection of 21 other Furbies, they found themselves wondering, "What if Furby was.... longer..."'
