The "power light" used to be such a useful and consistent user experience pattern. Light on => oh it's on.
Now the light is on when a device is off, or it might blink when turning on (or off), sometimes it changes colors from orange to white, who even knows anymore.
@koos On my windows 10 desktop computer, if I even bump the power button, it shuts down before I even get a chance to cancel it. On my windows 10 (same OS) laptop, pressing the power button quickly does literally nothing. Pressing and holding for 1 second brings up the "slide to shut down" screen. It's insanity.
@fenwick67 @koos I finally had to prise the "power" and "sleep" keys out of my desktop keyboard this week, after bumping them once too often. What monster thought that introducing additional methods of accessing the "off" switch was something that people were calling out for strongly enough to justify the howls of rage continually echoing around the world as our computers leap at the opportunity for a little nap?
@koos @fenwick67 Better than my current experience. My desktop consistently refuses to wake from sleep. Power returns, lights come in, fans start up, but it never gets to the login screen. Have to hard restart it. So annoying.
