The body of knowledge required for a mid-level software engineering job is just absurd

@fenwick67 jobs or interviews. Because all of the professions you mentioned in your subsequent toots do require a large amount of background knowledge and training. Software engineers are not more knowledgeable than people in other professions, as much as they'd like to believe they are.

@fenwick67 And while I haven't had to do a whiteboard test in an interview, I have had to draw, paint, and design digitally while being tested, watched, and questioned on obscure tasks I haven't done since 2001.
