Seeing my parents suffering from things like arthritis is really making me think about my lifestyle. I'm not getting any younger myself, and it really does make me want to start changing my eating and exercising habits.
If I could make one or two small changes and make myself a bit healthier, then that would be a good thing.
Why Walking Helps Us Think
http://www.newyorker.com/tech/elements/walking-helps-us-think
"Many experiments have shown... even very mild exertion, people perform better on tests of memory and attention. Walking... promotes new connections between brain cells, staves off the usual withering of brain tissue that comes with age, increases the volume of the hippocampus (a brain region crucial for memory)"
A haiku about getting out of bed:
No no no no no
No no no no no no no
No no no no no
My daughter is back home after two nights at camp. She loved it and can't wait to go back. Her leader said she did well and the other leaders there couldn't believe she was only four. So proud of her!
How is it that my husband can fall asleep seconds after his head hits the pillow?! It takes me at least an hour. It used to take a couple hours, but then I discovered melatonin. It doesn't help that I have tinnitus. I've never really been a good sleeper, though. I have trouble turning my brain off.
Dropped my four-year-old daughter off at Sparks (Girl Guides) camp tonight for the weekend. Kid-free until Sunday. Yahoo!
#Trump handed out print-outs of maps showing his electoral college win at an interview. It brought to mind my late mother in the beginning stages of her Alzheimers when she kept photos of the inside of her house in her purse to randomly take out and show people. She was proud of her home, sure, but it was super strange. Alzheimers sucks. Not saying he has dementia or anything, but it reminded me of my mom.

Still trying to figure this place out. Just did a search for 'atheist' to try to find like-minded people to follow and found one of my exes. That wasn't weird at all. Nope.
My back has been great lately, so I had three yards each of topsoil and mulch delivered on Monday (two yards of the topsoil belonged to my neighbour, but I moved half of hers for her because I am too nice). Only took me two days to get it spread around. Back was fine all week. Yesterday, I had trouble raising the blade on my lawnmower. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, I guess. My back is not happy with me today. Dammit https://octodon.social/media/rQgqDmWRFsRrVNfCxlw
